Unemployed Worker Tuition Remission Program
Eligible unemployed persons interested in attending Winter or Summer Session are required to meet with a representative of the New Brunswick Office of Summer and Winter Sessions on the Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday preceding the beginning of the term of which the course begins. Prior or subsequent dates will not be honored. Registration is on a space availability basis only.
Any eligible student who registers without securing approval from the New Brunswick Office of Summer and Winter Sessions will be denied attendance in Winter or Summer Session under the Workforce Program. Such students will be held responsible for payment of all tuition and fees. Students ARE NOT ALLOWED to add OR change selections after initial registration; students may however drop courses in accordance to the withdrawal period (see Winter or Summer Session calendar).
Documentation Required to Satisfy Eligibility
Required documentation:
- A written justification (employability development plan) from the Division of Employment Services counselor with indicated courses and alternate courses based on career goal specific for Winter/Summer Session is required.
OR
- An original voucher with two original signatures dated no earlier than one month prior to receiving approval from the Winter/Summer Session Office. Copies will not be accepted.
Registration will be denied if the above documentation, as described, is not presented when meeting with a representative of the New Brunswick Office of Summer and Winter Sessions .
Eligible individuals seeking to enroll in credit courses in this tuition waiver program are responsible for filing a financial aid application and providing Rutgers University with all information necessary to determine possible financial aid eligibility.
