Bad Tidings Screening with Dan Natale
Join us for a screening of Bad Tidings, an award-winning documentary film about how Jersey Shore residents respond to the threat of rising sea levels. Filmmaker, Dan Natale, a 2016 Rutgers graduate, will be on hand for Q and A at the end of the screening. Register for event.
According to Natale, “I started as a journalist writing for local papers and the Rutgers Targum, but I wanted to tell real-life stories in a more gripping way. The visual is what grabs people – that’s why I got into film-making.”
Dan Natale is a film maker from Red Bank NJ. He started his career as a journalist, but transitioned to film because he saw it as an opportunity to reach audiences on a deeper level. His first documentary, “Bad Tidings,” focuses on the danger shoreline residents are in over climate change and sea level rise. They are largely in denial their homes will be under water in the next 50 years. What started as a student project has gone on to be screened at multiple film festivals, and won best short film at the NJ film festival. Dan is currently freelancing, and working on building his production Company Mango Visuals. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2016 with a degree in Environmental Policy and Digital Film making.
