International Student Services
The Center for International Faculty and Student Services coordinates services for international students, scholars, and faculty on the New Brunswick Campus. Center staff provide direct support to students with federal immigration procedures, personal concerns, and a variety of nonacademic matters. In addition, the center sponsors programs and activities for and of interest to the international community, including a comprehensive orientation at the beginning of each semester designed to facilitate new students’ adjustment to the United States and to Rutgers University; a community-based International Friendship Program which gives students the opportunity to get to know American families; and informational and cross-cultural seminars.
Please note that Rutgers cannot issue F-1 or J-1 visa documents for students enrolled in Summer Session only. Students must be admitted to academic programs for the regular academic year to be eligible for such documents.
The Center for International Faculty and Student Services is the university’s liaison to the United States Department of Homeland Security. Any questions regarding one’s status as a foreign student or exchange visitor in the United States should be addressed to the Center.
